FRIP: MASS DISASTER TASK FORCE
FRIP MDTF is an elite force of rigorously trained young doctors and medical students who are capable of handling and responding to mass disasters and casualties in the city of Karachi. Our first responders go through a 5 level training.


FRIP Level 2 is a one day instructor course where first response skills are drilled into those who cleared FRIP level 1. Any remaining misconceptions are cleared regarding first response and teaching methods are stressed upon. Each participant presents a skill through a presentation and demonstration and is evaluated by the team. FRIP Level 2 teaches them to become future instructors and facilitators.




FRIP Level 1 is a two-day beginner course in first response for young doctors, medical students and others interested in first response. It teaches the participants how to react and respond in trauma situations especially in Karachi. By the end of Level 1, the participant can handle an emergency situation, activate response systems and give a basic life support. Level 1 workshop is followed by both a written and practical test.

Primary Trauma Care is an international organisation that teaches trauma care to doctors. FRIP Level 2 participants are encouraged to take the Primary Trauma Care Course. FRIP plans to sponsor Level 3 participants for those trained instructors who take have conducted a number of workshops in the community. The PTC course teaches them in-hospital management of trauma. FRIP IS NOT OFFICIALLY AFFILIATED WITH PTC.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support is an internationally recognised American Heart Association course that teaches advanced methods of Cardiac Resuscitation. FRIP plans to sponsor Level 3 pariticpants to take the ACLS Course once they have completed a significant number of workshops. FRIP IS NOT OFFICIALLY AFFILIATED WITH THE AHA.

FRIP Mass Disaster Task Force Training is the highest level of training that a FRIP first responder receives. Following this training, the first responder joins the FRIP MDTF and responds to real life situations. The MTDF is expected to be prepared to intervene in mass casualties, natural and man made disasters and trauma.
